Loading MRC files:

Need to select RAW data
need to tell it image size (from header)
Use "float", data type 1
header is 1024 bytes

Loading MRC files for segmentation:

Need to first use Label to convert MRC to integer (-1 command in label)
Load image as type "short", otherwise same as before

To view, right click, then add orthoslice.
Can add 3 orthoslices (axial, saggatial, ) for all 3 x-section views
Should disable spin animation: Right click on image, select preferences, uncheck "enable spin animation"

Getting Help

Pressing "help" button crashes the application
Instead, type "amirahelp" in a text console
This will bring up the help files in a new firefox browser window
The following line should be in your .cshrc file for this to work:

        alias amirahelp 'firefox /cryoem/Amira-3.1/share/doc/usersguide/index.html'
