Policy on Time Allocation for NYSBC Electron Microscopy Facilities

For each month, each Member Institution is entitled to a share of the resources proportional to its current capital investment
- 1 unit for all incl. NYSBC-Cell Biophysics except 0.37 for NYU, WMCCU.

The Member Institution’s representative on the CEM Operations Committee to arbitrate allocation of time amongst relevant users.

Time allocation is calculated from the following
- available instrument time during regular working hours
- staff support time including training and consultation
- Instruments may be weighted according to demand

For the near future, shifts outside working hours available to those with 24-hours CEM approval, and not charged to the allocation

Downtime will not be charged to the allocation.
- Users must immediately identify instrument failure.
- Downtime does not include sample failure issues
