CEM microscope training sessions

When there is a large enough group of new users CEM staff will hold a training/re-training session. This training session will cover several topics including: basic alignments, holder insertion and retraction, cryo holder care, setting up low dose and common quirks of the user interface

Topics covered for advanced hands-on training (2nd session)

• Advanced Alignments
  • Hands-on tutorial for daily alignments done by staff
  • 120kV vs 200kV alignments
  • Setting Std Focus
• Sample holder insertion/retraction
  • User will practice insertion and retraction
• iMDS / low dose use
  • User will practice finding eucentric height, finding focus and correcting for astigmatism
