CEM Practical Signup and Information

• Practicals will be from 10 am to 1 pm, Oct 29 - Nov. 2 (single particle reconstruction and tomography)
• Computer setup day will be the class discussion day, Thurs. Oct 25 at 4pm.

Computers

• NYSBC can supply a very limited number of computers. Please bring your own laptop if at all possible!
• Macs or PC's can be used.
• Windows PC's will be run from a Ubuntu boot disk (provided by us), so the hard drive will not be altered
• Macs will need to have software installed.
• We will have a one-day session before to work out these issues
• NOTE: Some of the software will not work on the Intel Atom processor, so netbooks with this processor are not suitable
• Apart for this, the computational requirements for the demo are easily met by any laptop within the past 5 years
