Welcome to NYSBCWe have received your proposal for using the electron microscope facility at NYSBC. If you have not already discussed this project with one of the EM staff, we will be contacting you shortly. Even if you have had a discussion, we would like to invite you to visit NYSBC in the near future to meet all of the EM staff and have a conference to discuss your goals and the best strategy for meeting them. In the meantime, you should familiarize yourself with NYSBC and consider taking steps to becoming officially affiliated.General information about NYSBC

| < < | In order to submit your proposal, you will have registered for and used the TWiki website at NYSBC (our "intranet"). This has become a large repository of information, a summary of which can be viewed at WebHome. Throughout this site, you will notice a lot of words that take the form "WikiWord" (note capitalization). These are indeed refered to as WikiWords and represent links to specific pages posted by TWikiUsers, a group to which you are now a member! | |||||||

User affiliationIn order to use our facility, you and any colleagues requiring access to our instrumentation will need to become affiliated. Justification for this process is described in AffiliationFaqs. Basically, you need to send some basic information to your EM Institutional representative. This procedure is described in AffiliationProcedure. Once completed, we will make an ID card for you and you will be eligible for training on our instrumentation.Instrument signupsProcedures for instrument signups are described in CemSchedulingOverview. Of course, you must be trained prior to using any of our instrumentation, which will involve working with our staff in a one-on-one setting. To do so, you should contact our EM staff using the email address cem@nysbc.org and contact your EM Institutional representative in order to reserve time on the relevant instrument. This process will be reviewed during our initial meeting with you to discuss your project.
