CEM Signup Rules

  1. Bill Rice is the administrator for the booking software (rice@nysbc.org).
  2. Signups open at noon on Monday for the following week
  3. Signups are approved by the adminidatrator on Wednesday for the following week
  4. Individual users are limited to 2 daytime slots per 2 weeks
    • these two slots may be used during the same week, but then no slots will be available for the following week
    • users with 24-hour access may signup for unlimited after-hour/weekend slots
  5. Any daytime slots not claimed by Wednesday for the following week are may be booked at will and will not count against a user's allocation
  6. Experienced users are encouraged to get 24 hour access, which requires:

  1. Register at: http://www.nysbc.org/em-signup.
  2. Obtain necessary training on desired instrument
  3. Mail rice@nysbc.org and request booking access to desired resources.
    • Tecnai F20
    • JEOL 1230
    • high pressure freezer
    • plunge freezer
    • freeze substitution unit
    • scanners
    • vacuum evaporator

  7. Signups for multiple days are allowed. This is done by arrangement -- email rice@nysbc.org if you need multiple days in a row. Multiple day signups will use up your allocation for that month, but may be useful if, for example, you have a set of grids you know are good and need to get the data.
