Foreign Visitors Programs at NYSBCDistinguished VisitorsFaculty with established programs, outside the US, related to NYSBC activities may be considered for Distinguished Visitor positions. NYSBC will provide appointees office space and appropriate research resources for the period of the visit. The Visitor will be expected during residence to provide one or more lectures on their current research activities, and one lecture summarising research in their home areas related to NYSBC. Resulting publications from the research using NYSBC resources will have NYSBC as a contributing institution.How to applyDirect applicants should provide a letter indicating their interest, with a biographical sketch. The letter should clearly define the period of time requested, and certify that the applicant will provide their own round trip travel, personal accommodation in New York, and health and accident insurance. Applicants may wish to identify NYSBC associated faculty with whom they expect to interact. Sponsors of applicants should provide the above information and their cover letter of sponsorship indicating their degree of willingness to use their Member Institution's resource allocations for the applicant.ReviewApplications will be reviewed by the appropriate facility director(s) and by NYSBC administration. A review / decision will be provided in less than 20 working days.Student Summer ProgramGraduate students and undergraduates from abroad (i.e. outside USA) with preexisting research experience may be considered for a summer program with stipend.How to applyDirect applicants should provide a letter indicating their interest, with a biographical sketch and the name of three references. Graduate students should provide certification from their Dean/ Head of Department, that their potential period at NYSBC is known to them and meets their approval.
