Maintenance Instructions for 12 Month Tasks

Purification of Direct Q3 water system

• Items you will need before beginning:
  • Smartpak filter (back up on Shelves about KD's Desk)
  • Millipak 40 filter (back up on Shelves about KD's Desk)
  • 1.2L 30% hydrogen peroxide (Chemical shelving)

• Add 1.2 L Hydrogen peroxide to 30L (RO) reservoir tank
• Allow to sit 1 hour to sanitize
• Run at least 7L through dispenser to sanitize entire system
  • Can use spigot on RO tank to dispense remaining water
• Replace Smartpak and allow tank to fill.
• Run at least 7L through dispenser to sanitize entire system
  • Can use spigot on RO tank to dispense remaining water
• Replace Millipak 40 dispenser filter
• Reorder Consumables to make sure on hand for next service

• Consumables from Fisher Scientific
  • Item # SPR00SIA1 Millipore Smartpak (water filer cartridge)
  • Item # MPGL04SK2 Millipore Millipak 40 (dispenser filter)
  • Item # 382171 4L 30% hydrogen peroxide (need 1.2L)

Replace pump oil and Activate Alumina on Roughing Pumps

• Two pump locations
  • BOC Edwards Auto 306
  • JEOL film pumping station

• Items you will need before beginning:
  • #19 Vacuum pump oil
  • Activated Alumina

• Reorder Consumables to make sure on hand for next service

• Consumables from VWR
  • 54996-082 VWR #19 vacuum pump oil (4L)
  • 55009-278 Activated Alumina Charge (500g)

• Turn off air
• Remove Duct Sox
• Take to Laundromat
• Have cleaned
• install clean sox
• Turn on air
