| > > | RESOURCES (NYSBC GENERAL LABORATORIES, NIH style format, the individual sections can be copied and pasted )FACILITIES:Specify the facilities to be used for the conduct of the proposed research. Indicate the performance sites and describe capacities, pertinent capabilities, relative proximity, and extent of availability to the project. Under “Other,” identify support services such as machine shop, electronics shop, and specify the extent to which they will be available to the project. Use continuation pages if necessary.Laboratory:Investigators share a 420 sq ft general lab area, a ~1000 sq ft cryo EM sample preparative area, and a PI-specific ~900 sq ft molecular biology lab with ~200 sq ft utility area. The labs have a general purpose chemical hood each. There is a darkroom adjacent to the Cryo EM lab.Clinical: / Animal -- NYSBC is not permitted by lease to perform any animal or human experiments. Experiments using samples from animal and human origin require review.Computer:NYSBC has a mirroring data storage system to backup and provide data from the multiple spectrometers and microscopes. This is for > 3 Tb RAID system, with carefully secured access and backup resources. NYSBC has Cat-5a or Cat-6 wiring throughout, 802.11b/g wireless networks, two T-1 lines, one DSL line, and its own email and web server. Additional high speed access will be added as needed for conferencing, distant access to databases etc. The DSL and T-1 lines operate with a load sharer/alternator switch so that services can use either if the alternate fails. There is a Linux cluster system of one DL385 Dual AMD280 (two core) 8 Gb mem control server and fifteen HP DL 145 SATA G2 Server DUAL AMD O280 2.4GHz 8 Gb mem , for a total of 64 cores.Office:Adequate to need.Other:Necessary test equipment, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscopes, sweepers, vibration/EMF/sound analyzer etc. Electronic library support from CCNY. Instrument and electronic shop support at Physics Dept, CCNY.MAJOR EQUIPMENT:List the most important equipment items already available for this project, noting the location and pertinent capabilities of each. Cold boxes for preparative work, Refrigerated. RC-5B ,RC-5C, J21 centrifuges. Freeze drier. AktaFLPC system, Biorad HPLC system. Cold boxes for preparative work, 2x. Revco Freezers. PCR equipment.
