Introduction

In order to provide Principal Investigators and other interested parties a continuous overview of the scientific activities at NYSBC, it is planned to provide approximately quarterly summaries on-line and available in printed form. Your input into the format and content of the report would be welcome. To obtain printed copies of this report, please contact Mr. Shahn at 212 939 0660 x 9102.

Facilities

Beam lines

Based on PDB depositions, X4A and X4C remain the most productive first generation beam lines in structural biology, just behind overall the second generation beam lines at Argonne, and ESRF.

CEM

300kV microscope passed most significant engineering tests and is ready to enter into general use

The scheduling of CEM time is being changed from a project based system to institutional allocation. Final details of procedures will be sent to CEM users.

In the last quarter, 98% of the scheduled time for Member Institutions was available.
