TargetTrack

TargetTrack, a target registration database, provides information on the experimental progress and status of targets selected for structural determination by the Protein Structure Initiative and other worldwide high-throughput structural biology projects.

It is a merger of TargetDB? and PepcDB?.

New features in TargetTrack include:

* Ability to define complex targets, including targets made up of multiple protein and/or nucleic acid sequences, or targets comprised of references to existing single-sequence targets * Ability to define one or more ligands bound to the target, either at time of selection or during structural studies * New data items to capture biological information about the target, such as "target rationale", "target annotation", and "target protein type" * New data item "target partnership" to capture PSI:Biology collaboration information * Expanded controlled vocabulary for "status", "target category", "protocol type", "sequence type", and other enumeration data items

The current schemas for TargetDB? and PepcDB? will continue to be supported for select activities (such as PSI-2 and non-PSI projects); and TargetTrack will be backwards compatible for these files.

TargetDB?/PepcDB and TargetTrack will operate in parallel until the end of 2011. TargetDB?/PepcDB updates are still being accepted for the duration of this transition period.
