There was a lot of food on the first day (Tuesday). One extra tray (small Classic Sandwiches) was unopened. This tray was served the next day for NYSBC board meeting (c/o Willa and Crystal). Five sandwiches were left from lunch on the second day. The Israeli salad was a big hit. Coffee, milk, orange juice, soda, and water were provided for both days. Wine was sufficient for the reception on the second day. Four (or three, to be checked) bottles were unopened. Beer was more than enough (less than five bottles were consumed). Fewer people drank beer. Many didn't seem to eat a lot during the reception. Mezze included a Mediterranean platter with baba ghannouj, hummus, Greek feta cheese, dolmakas, olives, and pita bread.

Some leftover sandwiches were stored in the fridge, but were later on consumed before end of the week. Leftover pickles and fruits were also stored in the fridge and consumed few days after. Extra bagels were stored in the freezer, and were also gradually consumed. Extra dips (mustard, etc) were also stored in the fridge.

Food was delivered on time on both days.

Dinner for the first day was by individual preference (either Dinosaur BBQ, Indus Valley, Sezz Medi', or Chez Lucienne). Dinner on the second day was at Sylvia's. Maps were provided.

Meeting Logistics

Ralph, Ritchie, and Tony came early on both days. Tony and Ritchie arranged the chairs. Room A11 was used on the first day. Walls were not taken down. Temperature inside the room was slightly high. Dan had to readjust the heating at lunchtime. There was also noise coming from the hammering outside. At lunchtime, many participants seemed to have gathered at the usual lunch table of NYSBC staff. This was not supposed to happen. This may have used up all the chairs (and space) reserved for NYSBC employees and researchers.

The walls were taken down on the second day. Chairs were spread out, and the projection screen was moved. Two tables were placed at the back. One table was used for the food. Another table was used for the drinks. This allowed more space for people to interact during breaks and lunch.

There a a little bit of delay in the schedule on the second day. A number of participants insisted on using their own computers for their presentations. This necessitated installation of Webex into their computers. David's computer was used for PC presentations. And a borrowed Macbook was used for the Mac presentations.

The room was left amazingly clean and not messy at the end of each day.

Parking arrangements were made for two participants (Andreas and Zsolt).
