Attached is the DLL-Command-Set. you will find the description of the error 16 (No or false Modbus address as answer) on page 18: BA_P0204_03-10-17_ManualDLL2400089_12.pdf.

The configuration of the virtual port com (USB) should be the same as RS232.

We check the communication in our lab and we see the same error 16 (see attachment) if we communicate with the motion control as you but the Thermoshake works properly. We didn’t see errors with the Watlow device (heating and heating control). I think the problem could be the RS232-USB converter. Please try various types.
