Important:

  • Please report any bell jar damage. Failure to do so may risk serious injury to others.

General Notes

  • Wear gloves when touching sources
  • Positive source-ceramic
  • Negative source- no ceramic
  • It is critical that pos+ is connected to pos+ and neg- to neg- when attaching accessories.

Start Up

  • Switch instrument power on (above Rotatilt knob) turn knob from 0 to 1
  • Error message will be displayed press reset then start
  • Wait for sealed light to appear

Venting the chamber

  • Press vent
  • Unhinge bell jar
  • Carefully lift bell jar
  • Add or remove samples and/or accessories

Pumping down the chamber

  • Use compressed air to clean pirani before pumping down
  • Carefully close the bell jar
  • Lock the safety hinge
  • Press cycle to begin pump down

GlowDischarge

Shut down

  • Close bell jar
  • Press Cycle and wait until high vacuum has been reached
  • Press seal
  • Press stop
  • When the digital display reads STANDBY turn power switch to 0
