800#2 contamination in Cryoplatform, cold head replaced by Bruker, HSI filter installed on all systems to prevent future issues.
Chilled water issue
Compressors have failed, they should be replaced by end of March 08.
Future considerations include replacing water-cooled He compressors with air-cooled units, or installing individual Haskris water chillers for each system.
Topspin upgrades
600MHz NMR has been upgraded to Topspin 2.1, the other systems will follow shortly as scheduling allows.
Topspin 2.1 advantages include, implementation of >3d experiments, cryoplanel, topshim, etc.
Topspin 2.1 disadvantages include new syntax for shape pulses, and incrementation for indirect dimensions.
technology priorities Field cycling. tech changes preclude current design, revisit issue. Miniprobes -- possibely a good idea but no specific application requests. Non linear sampling -- high potential demand for an easy to use package. Helium liquefaction -- not clear economic.
Interest in non-linear sampling techniques, cryo-microprobe, field-cycling shuttle probe.
Reducing the NMR impact of the CUNY construction
modest likely operational impact
