Remove Cryosectioning unit

  • Bake for at least one hour before removing
  • Loosen thumb screw on specimen arm
  • Loosen both levers on right side
  • Unplug cable of left
  • Slide cryo unit towards yourself

Attaching room temperature sectioning unit

  • Slide plastic sectioning tray until plastic is flush with microtome frame

Removing room temperature unit

  • slide plastic tray towards yourself

Attaching cryosectioning unit

  • Raise specimen arm to top position
  • Slide Cryo unit onto tracks
  • Connect sectioning arm with specimen holder
  • Slide cryo unit remainder of the way on
  • Fasten specimen arm thumb screw
  • Make sure hand wheel can make a complete turn
  • Fasten two levers on right
  • Give a light tug to make sure they are secure
  • Fasten cable on left to back of machine
  • Connect LN2 hose
  • Insert specimen chuck
  • Insert knife holder
  • Turn on grey control unit
  • Cool down
