Glow Discharge in Edwards 306


  • Recommended that Glow Discharge be carried out by the dedicated units
  • You will need to install the plasma ring for this procedure (see poster)

  • Load sample
  • Press cycle allow vacuum pump down to 1.0x 10-1
  • Press seal
  • If the vacuum is too good adjust with unmarked knob under bell jar (bleed valve)
  • Turn voltage knob to HT
  • Turn Selector to 5
  • Allow plasma glow for 90 Seconds
  • Return selector and voltage knob both to 0
  • Press seal to exit

  • Vent
